DCM partners with PrintReleaf to promote sustainable forestry
November 3, 2021
As part of our commitment to walking with a softer footprint, DCM has partnered with PrintReleaf, a company that measures customers’ paper usage and reforests that usage on an equivalent basis all over the world.
PrintReleaf uses technology that measures paper consumption, calculates how many trees were harvested to produce that paper, and then automatically reforests the number of trees that were consumed.
DCM’s clients can also access this capability: They can monitor paper usage, reforest the equivalent, and share their progress via QR codes on printed material. By scanning the codes, end-user customers can view public-facing dashboards that show their reforestation efforts.
“The technological capability that PrintReleaf has built into its management platform is outstanding,” said DCM’s President and CEO Richard Kellam. “We are able to identify how many trees are being replanted per print job and client, and can see the impact our collective efforts are having in real time. We are essentially replanting one tree for every tree used in our paper production.”
