As CEO, Mike oversees all aspects of DCM Communications Management. He leads by establishing high-trust, constructive relationships with each member of the DCM team through dialogue and empowerment. DCM team members are then free to effectively engage and delight customers.
Mike has had a long and successful career in the newspaper publishing business with extensive operational experience in managing print operations. Mike was President and CEO of Sun Media, and integrated Osprey Media into the company when it was acquired by Sun Media in 2007. Mike led the formation of Osprey Media Group in 2001 and it was taken public in 2004 as Osprey Media Income Fund. Prior to forming Osprey, Mike was President of Hollinger Canadian Newspapers L.P. and President and CEO of family-owned Armadale Communications. Most recently, Mike has been a Managing Director at Beringer Capital, a private equity firm based in Toronto, Canada that focuses on the marketing services, specialty media and advertising industries in North America.
In addition to Mike’s work at DCM, he is a Director of Yellow Pages Limited and is involved in a number of not for profit organizations including as Chairman of the Board of Governors of St. Andrews College in Aurora, Ontario.
Mike holds a B. Comm (Honours) from Queen's University.
In June 2018, Greg was elected a director and appointed CEO upon the retirement of Mike Sifton. As President & CEO, Greg has overall operating responsibility for DCM. He's had an extensive career in marketing services, communication and event management, as well as private equity investment. He began his marketing career in product management with General Electric, then worked with S.C. Johnson. In 1981 he bought into Mariposa Communications. By 1997, when the company was sold to Mosaic Group, he and his partner had built the largest event company in Canada.
In 2001 he became a lead investor in Pareto Corporation, a start-up marketing services business which became a publicly traded entity in 2004. He served as a director until 2010, when the company was sold to a private equity firm.
In 2011 Greg joined VRG Capital, a private equity family office; there he served as lead investor and director in a number of public and private companies including Wheels Group, Jones Brown Insurance Brokerage, Founders Advantage Capital, and GlobeAlive Technology Partners. In 2016 he joined DCM as an investor and director; he resigned as director when he became President in November 2016.
Greg currently serves as Chair of the Board for Jones Brown and is on the advisory boards of Kensington Capital and the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University.
He is a founding donor of the Centre for Business Venturing at Queen’s University and is on the advisory board of “Capitalize 4 Kids,” Canada’s premier investment conference. He has served on boards for groups and associations including Junior Achievement, The Down Syndrome Association of Toronto, The Canadian Business Hall of Fame, and St. Joseph’s Health Centre. In 1992, Greg received Canada’s 125th Commemorative Anniversary medal for volunteerism in the community.
Greg has an MBA from the Smith School of Business, and a BBA from Bishop’s University in Sherbrooke, Quebec.
James is a senior finance professional with more than 20 years of capital markets and senior leadership experience, having previously worked extensively as an investment banker advising leading small and mid-cap, high growth companies.
He began his investment banking career with Midland Walwyn Capital (now Bank of America Merrill Lynch) and subsequently was a co-founder, head of investment banking and a member of the executive committee of Clarus Securities, a leading Canadian institutional-focused investment dealer. He later held a senior role with Ludwig Wessel & Associates, a boutique executive search firm specializing in the capital markets, and then advised a private equity fund and its portfolio companies on debt & equity financings and mergers & acquisitions, prior to joining DCM in May, 2015.
At DCM, James plays a key role in the strategic direction of the Company, helping align business and finance strategy to support the long term direction of the Company, and developing and implementing capital markets and M&A strategies. He leads the finance & accounting team to ensure financial compliance and communication of value and risks to investors and our board of directors, and is responsible for providing the proper financial planning and analysis tools and leadership to the organization. James also supports corporate initiatives to drive business and process improvement changes to add value.
James holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University and an MBA from the Ivey Business School at Western University.
As Senior Vice President, Chief Commercial Officer, Mike has overall responsibility for revenue generation, marketing, and the company’s go-to-market strategy and execution. He oversees sales, sales planning, sales operations, new business ventures, and marketing and communications. Mike is committed to continuous learning and is passionate about the power of positive culture and unleashing potential in individuals and teams.
Previously at Purolator, recognized as Canada’s leading integrated freight and parcel solutions provider, Mike held progressively senior leadership roles, the most recent being Senior Vice President, Chief Commercial Officer. In that role, he maintained responsibility for sales and marketing; sales operations; corporate development and strategy; alliances; revenue management; and communications. Prior to Purolator, he practiced corporate commercial and real estate law at Goodmans LLP, one of Canada's premier transaction law firms.
Mike holds a BA in Economics from Colgate University; a law degree from the University of Windsor; and an MBA from the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University. Mike was co-captain of the football team at Colgate during his senior year and was selected by the Toronto Argonauts in the CFL’s 1988 player draft.
Most recently, Mike earned his ICD.D Designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
Alan is a highly respected industry leader with an extensive background in digital production, publishing and marketing communications.
He began his career at The Printing House Ltd in management and developed his career within that organization to both Vice President of Marketing and Vice President of Business Development. Alan played a significant role in rapid expansion of their branch network and establishing TPH as retail leader in digital printing. In addition Alan held positions as General Manager for Patient News Publishing a recognized leader in dental newsletters in North America and with Xerox Canada where he was the Program Manager for Communication and Marketing Services as part of Xerox Global Services
At DCM, Alan is responsible for all Operations in Canada and the United States. Alan leads a group of General Managers who are responsible for plant operations and an operations support group in Engineering, Strategic Sourcing, Operations Technology, and Logistics who support the business. Alan is leading the operations transformational change in the business and is responsible for developing and implementing new capabilities that contributes to top line revenue growth and profitability for the company.
Alan studied Marketing Management at the Richard Ivey School of Business.
Judy is an accomplished business leader, with progressive HR leadership experience with Fortune 500 companies. As a recognized thought leader she brings to DCM extensive experience of driving transformative change in the areas of strategy development, sales culture transformation and organizational capability. As a Culture and Change Navigator she has successfully designed and implemented new corporate cultures, organizational structures and systems and led organizations through successful change initiatives while retaining overall employee engagement.
As the business leader within the HR function she enhances organizational effectiveness and competitiveness by providing HR leadership, support and programs that are aligned with DCM’s business goals, objectives and strategy. She has deep expertise in the areas of Talent Management, Culture and Change Management (Organization and Sales), Organizational Design/Work Process Design, Business Leadership - Strategic Process Development.
She is a graduate of the Advanced HR Program, Executive Program, Rotman School of Management and obtained her Global Human Resources Certification in 2007 (SHRM) and is a graduate of the University of Windsor, Honours, Bachelor, Human Kinetics.
